The layer this library describes
If you ask where the chakras are, the honest answer in this vocabulary is pranamaya kosha. The nadis run here, the vayus move here, and the wheels sit where the channels cross.
That placement explains why chakra work does not show up in dissection and why practitioners insist it is not imaginary. In the scheme's own terms it belongs to a layer the first one does not contain.
It also supplies the five karmendriyas, the organs of action in Samkhya's inventory: speech, grasping, locomotion, excretion and procreation. Whatever the body does rather than receives is powered from here.
What works here
Breath, and everything built on it: pranayama, the locks, the cleansing kriyas. This is the layer where an effect is felt fastest, which is why breathing practices are the most reliable demonstration the tradition has.
It is also the layer most easily overdriven. Forceful practice here produces agitation quickly, and the classical texts hedge it with more warnings than anything else they teach.
