Sól is the sun: the thing that ends the freeze whether or not you were ready for it to end. Something thaws today. That is mostly welcome and it will also release whatever the cold had been holding still. Expect movement in a situation that had seemed settled, and remember that the settling was the frost rather than a resolution.
Ior is a river-fish that takes its food on land, which is not a fish. The poem never names the animal, and the beaver accounts for the most clauses: it has a fair dwelling surrounded by water, where it lives in delight. That is the most contented verse in a poem otherwise full of hazard and cost. Today you work across two elements, two roles or two rooms, and the stanza is clear that this can be comfortable rather than a strain. What makes it comfortable is the dwelling. Ór is gold, and its kenning is a metallurgical claim: most venerable of substances, because gold does not corrode.
