One card, held for a stretch of time

A forecast here is a single drawn card and a short reading of it, nothing more. The day gets its own card, the week gets another, and so do the month and the year. They are not versions of each other. A card held for a year is read differently from the same card held for an afternoon, because the question changes: a day asks what to do next, a year asks what is being built.

The pool is every card in three decks, so the draw may land on the Rider-Waite, on the Tarot of New York City, or on the Tarot of Beijing. The card keeps whatever name that deck gives it. A card can arrive reversed, and when it does the reading follows the reversed meaning rather than softening the upright one.

Days begin at midnight UTC

Every visitor sees the same card on the same date. That is deliberate. A forecast that shifted by timezone would be a different page for every reader and could not be checked, quoted or shared reliably, so one clock governs all of it and the clock is UTC.

You can look at today and at tomorrow, at this week and at the next one. You cannot look further, and that is not an oversight. A forecast written far enough ahead stops being a forecast and becomes a filing system.

The Chinese zodiac is calculated, not drawn

The sexagenary cycle runs unbroken: sixty pairings of a heavenly stem and an earthly branch, one per day, since long before anybody was writing them down for the internet. Which pairing governs a given date is pure arithmetic, so no draw is involved and no randomness is needed. What the page does is work out the animal ruling the day and then read each of the twelve animals against it.

The relations are the traditional ones. Six clashes, where your branch sits opposite the day's. Six harmonies, where the two bind. Four trines, where three branches pool into a single element. Six harms, which are the quieter friction. Anything else is no formal tie at all, and those are the days that belong entirely to whatever you decide to do with them.

A clash is not a bad day and a harmony is not a good one. The tradition is more interesting than that: a clash brings movement and exposure, a harmony brings agreement, and neither is the same as fortune.

Six readings, not one answer

The oracles here are independent. Nobody reconciles them before they are published, and they are not meant to agree. A tarot card, a rune, a hexagram and the day's number are four different instruments pointed at the same stretch of time, and instruments that always returned the same reading would tell you nothing you could not get from one of them.

So expect them to emphasise different things, and read the difference as information rather than as an error. Where the cards speak of recognition arriving and the I Ching counsels height that does not announce itself, those are not in conflict: one says what the year brings and the other says how to carry it. Where two genuinely pull opposite ways, that is usually a sign the question you brought has two sides to it.

What you should not find is one page telling you a thing is finished while another says it has not started. Those are checked for.

That is why the readings are short, and it is also why they can be checked, corrected and translated properly rather than produced fresh each morning and never read by anyone.

Nothing here promises an outcome, and nothing here describes influence over another person. A card marks a shape a stretch of time might take. What you do inside that shape is the part these pages have no opinion about.
