Wheel of Fortune and the Six of Wands
Fortune's turning wheel beside a laurelled rider carried through a cheering crowd. It reads as a win, with the reminder that the wheel keeps moving.
How the two cards meet
Both cards belong to Jupiter. The Wheel of Fortune is Jupiter's own card, and the Six of Wands is Jupiter in Leo, so the planet of growth and good fortune sits under the whole pair. The Wheel shows the mechanism: a golden wheel with a sphinx at its top, the snake going down and Anubis rising. The Six shows the result, a rider on a white horse wearing a laurel wreath, with a second wreath tied to his raised wand and a crowd holding their own wands around him.
Ten and six make sixteen, and the card at that number, the Tower, carries the pair's warning. A triumph built on a shaky foundation can be knocked down, and the Wheel's rotation means nobody stays at the top for good.
Combinations are common patterns, not rules
The readings here describe how a pair most often reads. Check each one against two things before you apply it. The first is the question: the same pair says one thing about a relationship and another about a job offer, and the question decides which side of the pair matters. The second is the background, meaning what the querent already knows about the situation, the position each card holds in the spread, and the cards around the pair. When the question or the background points another way, go with them over the general reading. Each pair page lists the exceptions that come up most often.
Four ways the pair can fall
Both upright
Outlook: Harmonious Yes or no: YesFortune turns your way and the effort is publicly recognised.
A turn of luck meets earned success. The Wheel, upright, is the change after which effort finally pays off, and the Six of Wands makes the result visible: recognition, praise, a deserved reward, the respect of colleagues. A project concludes well, a promotion is announced or a deal closes with good profit. Couples may reach a step they are proud of, such as an engagement or moving in together, and a single person may find confidence returning along with interest from others. The Six advises taking a break after the win and gathering strength, while the Wheel, where money is concerned, adds that it is unwise to relax completely even when things go well. Enjoy the applause and keep the next plan ready.
Advice
Accept the credit openly, then set aside part of any reward for the next lean stretch.
Wheel of Fortune upright, Six of Wands reversed
Outlook: Mixed Yes or no: Not yetCircumstances improve, but recognition lags and self-doubt holds you back.
The Wheel delivers and the querent is slow to believe it. Upright, the Wheel opens a favourable phase. The reversed Six brings a lack of recognition, fear of success or a confidence that has not recovered from earlier setbacks. Someone may be promoted without the authority that should come with it, or finish a project that nobody acknowledges. Another face of this card warns of complacency: a win celebrated before it is secure, and money spent on profits that have not arrived. Partners may feel unequal or unsure of each other even as circumstances favour them, and a new romance may be taken less seriously than it deserves. The reversed Six asks the querent to stop comparing themselves to others and look at their own growth.
Advice
List three results you achieved this year and present them to the person who decides on your next step.
Wheel of Fortune reversed, Six of Wands upright
Outlook: Mixed Yes or no: Not yetA victory arrives in a difficult period, and the wheel can turn again soon after.
The win is real, the timing is rough. The upright Six of Wands brings success after struggle and support from others, while the Wheel, upside down, adds instability and events outside anyone's control. The two can arrive in either order: a promotion just before a restructuring, or a hard-won result in the middle of a bad year. For a couple, a shared achievement may help them through outside trouble, as long as they keep working on the relationship instead of resting on the success. Money from a successful deal may be needed to cover unexpected expenses. The Tower as quintessence sharpens the risk in this state, because success built on a weak foundation is what a downturn exposes. The Six's confidence is useful, and the reversed Wheel asks that it come with an honest look at what could still go wrong.
Advice
Use the win to strengthen your position: secure the agreement, bank the money and fix the weak point you know about.
Both reversed
Outlook: Challenging Yes or no: NoPlans fail, standing slips, and the recognition the querent hoped for goes elsewhere.
Bad luck and a bruised ego compound each other. The reversed Wheel is a run of setbacks and loss of control. The reversed Six adds failed plans, loss of authority and fatigue after struggle, so the querent may feel passed over or defeated just when they hoped for a win. Colleagues or superiors withhold support, and the querent may feel they must overcome obstacles alone. A relationship can stall in uncertainty, with one partner feeling undervalued. Money brings losses, failed investments or unexpected costs, especially where confidence led to premature spending. The reversed Six's advice is to understand the reasons for the defeat, accept that even bitterness is temporary, and treat the loss as part of learning how to win; the Wheel adds that a downturn is followed by an upturn.
Advice
Review what went wrong with one honest colleague or friend, and rest before you try again.
When this reading may not apply
In a yes-or-no question the Six can reflect how much the querent wants to win rather than whether the plan is sound, and the Wheel's luck does not repair a bad plan. Read as the past, the pair often describes a success that has already peaked, and the present cards show how well it is being kept. If the question concerns a court case, a contest or an election, the pair points to a favourable turn but cannot settle the result. With the Tower or the Devil elsewhere in the spread, look hard at what the victory rests on.
