Sigel is the same sun under an English name, and the Anglo-Saxon poem puts it at sea: sailors carry it over the fishes' bath until the sea-horse brings them to land. The emphasis falls on the crossing rather than on the arrival. Today is a stretch of open water with the far side not yet in sight, which is a different condition from being lost. Hold the heading you set this morning and check it once rather than hourly.
