Wynn is joy, and the poem defines it by subtraction: he has it who knows little of sorrow, and has prosperity and enough within the walls. Today is defined by what is absent rather than what has arrived. Nothing is going wrong, the walls hold, there is enough. That is the entire condition and it is worth noticing at the time rather than in retrospect.
