Difficulty at the Beginning

The blade of grass through hard ground. The text says do not set out and does say appoint helpers. Stay where you are and get support in place, which is the opposite of your instinct.

I Ching: Today

Hexagram 3 is the blade of grass pushing through hard ground: a beginning that is genuinely difficult rather than merely slow. The classic says do not set out anywhere today, and does say to appoint helpers. That is the whole advice. Stay where you are, get support in place, and accept that the awkwardness now is structural rather than a sign you chose wrongly.

Biting Through

Something lodged has to be dealt with directly and the text says let justice be done. This is not a hexagram of diplomacy, which suits you. Apply the force once and stop.

The Gentle

You say a thing once, loudly, and expect it done. Today say it again, quietly. The gentle wind establishes by returning, and the loud gust only announces.

The Army

You will command because you are loudest. The hexagram wants the seasoned leader, not the first one up. Today, if you have not done this before, follow someone who has.

Inner Truth

Sincerity that reaches even pigs and fishes. What you say has to match what is inside for the crossing to be possible, and the text rewards holding to the course.

Modesty

The mountain inside the earth: great height that does not announce itself. The only hexagram with no unfavourable lines anywhere, and it asks you to carry things through without needing to be seen doing it.

Choose an oracle

Each one is read a different way. The tarot draws, the Chinese zodiac calculates.

Three of Cranes

Tarot

Three of Cranes

You like to be on site with your sleeves rolled up. The Three of Cranes asks you to climb to the roof instead and look. Today a clear view of the next phase may save you a week of rushing at the wrong floor.

Runes

Fehu

Cattle walk away if unattended. Whatever you own that needs feeding will need it today, and your instinct is to acquire rather than tend.

Numerology

Number 3

Three wants it said rather than done, which grates. Spend the day making the case instead of making the move, and you reach Thursday with people already agreeing.

Western zodiac

An easy angle. Something opens without a fight, which is unfamiliar territory for you. Take it without needing to have forced it.
