This month · October 2026

Inner Truth

You will hold the principle and forget the person in front of you. Sincerity here is personal rather than systemic.

I Ching: This month

Hexagram 61 is sincerity that reaches even pigs and fishes, the least reachable creatures in the classic's imagination. October is about whether what you say matches what is actually inside, and the text is clear that this kind of truth is what makes the difficult crossing possible. The month rewards holding to the course. Practically that means the influence available to you now comes from consistency rather than from argument. Where you are genuinely aligned, things will move that you did not expect to move. Where you are performing an alignment you do not feel, this hexagram is unusually unforgiving and people will sense the gap without being able to name it.

Today

Wednesday, October 28

Difficulty at the Beginning

You will redesign the approach rather than accepting that beginnings are simply hard. Appoint helpers and start on the difficult version.

Tomorrow

Thursday, October 29

Biting Through

You will argue the obstruction should not exist. Correct, and it does. Deal with the thing in front of you.

This week

Week of Monday, October 26

The Gentle

You will restate the principle. Today restate the instruction. The wind penetrates by being specific, and the principle is the draught the Judgment warns of.

Next week

Week of Monday, November 2

The Army

You will lead the army by principle and it will not follow a principle. Today it follows a person. Be that, or find the one who is, and let the idea march behind.

This year

2026

Modesty

Modesty as a system rather than a pose, which you will appreciate. Reduce what is excessive wherever you find it, including in your own arguments.

Choose an oracle

Each one is read a different way. The tarot draws, the Chinese zodiac calculates.

Three of Swords

Tarot

Three of Swords

You have intellectualised the injury into a general observation about people. Reversed, this card returns it to the specific. It was one person and it hurt. Letting it be personal is what allows it to finish.

Runes

Laguz

A flow that answers to its own gradient rather than your model. Update the model. Deal with the person, not the principle.

Numerology

Number 11

This is your number's temperament: ahead of the room and slightly outside it. The loneliness is part of the reading rather than a sign you are wrong. Find the one person who can hear it.

Western zodiac

The flowing angle. The system and the situation agree, so build the thing you have been describing. Ease is not the same as significance; aim it.
